Faithfully Fun News

Ok, that title may make this sound a little more important than it really it, but I can’t help it, I am so excited.  So much is going on right now for my little kitchen table company and I love it.  In two weeks I will set up my items at a Holiday Bazaar/Craft fair.  Although I won’t get to stay there all day personally, my dear Mama Robin is going to finish the day for me!  I hate to miss the show but it is for a good reason (I mean your nephew only turns the big 1-0 once!)

I have so many new items in the works for that show. I am hoping to continue to spread the word about my ribbon business!  If you will be in the Bowling Green, KY area on November 3, from 9am-2pm come by and say hi at Warren East High School! (Picture is from recent show set up at Jackson’s Orchard Childrens Day!)

Then in December I will be setting up for yet another bazaar.  I love it, I would sign up for more but I don’t want to over extend myself. It takes so long to make the items (especially with three kids who constantly need something 🙂  I am afraid to put myself out for more than I can handle.

A couple other big changes for Faithfully Fun are in the works as well.  For starters, I am now on Twitter!  Oh my, yes, I know, taking a big leap into the world, but I think its about time! (he he he)  Please check out the box on the sidebar and follow me!

I am also starting to build my Etsy store! I only have a few items up but am planning on getting my new items up as soon as I can!  I appreciate everyone’s support you have shown so far and I ask for your continued prayers and support as I continue on.

Please continue to stay tuned her and to Nanahood.com.  This Friday will be the last giveaway for the month of October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month).  I am so happy with the responses I am getting from this and even more thrilled that I am able to do even a small part to help raise awareness so this monster can be beat for good!

Be sure and follow Myhouseandme, as well as Nanahood, so you stay up to date on the giveaways that will be taking place in November and December!  It is almost as exciting to give things away as it is to win (almost!) 🙂

Thanks for letting me share my “news” with you! Be sure and follow me for future updates!

Have a great week and God Bless!

Faithfully Fun is Thinking Pink

I have been so happy this month to be focusing on Breast Cancer awareness with Teresa at Nanahood.com!  Nanahood is blogging pink until there is a cure but for the month of October it is like pink on steriods! Everything is about getting the word out there, getting the focus on awareness and doing anything we can as indiviuals to help find a cure!

I am trying to help do my small part to get the word out there this month.  Each week in October, through my Faithfully Fun Fridays posts we are giving away a new Think Pink creation.  The first week was the Think Pink Heart.

The response was wonderful.  Thanks to sales from this pin after the giveaway Faithfully Fun was able to make its first donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure though the Nanahood team!  I am so happy to be able to do even  a little bit to help others with what they are struggling with!

Last week the pin given away was the Pink Ribbon Butterfly.  Again these are now for sell and a portion of each one sold will go straight to breast cancer research through her team.

If you are interested in how you can help please be sure and visit Nanahood.com today!  If you would like one of these pins for yourself or for a family member please send me a message or find me on our Faithfully Fun facebook page!  The heart pins are $6 each and the butterfly pins are $8.

Be sure and follow Nanahood.com so you won’t miss a moment of the Think Pink drive! Check back this Friday for my new post and to see the new design that we will be giving away and what you can do to win!  I really appreciate all the support everyone has shown and hope in some small way we are showing all those out there who are suffering from this monster that we care!

Thank you!

Lamp Makeover – Need Advice

Over the summer I did a lot of makeover projects.  I am just now getting around to blogging about most of them. This one however, I am not sure if I am done or if it needs more work.  Let me start by saying when we moved into our last house we were given a pair of lamps that were desperately needed, but on top of that, they matched the color scheme perfectly!

I loved the burgundy.  It matched our curtains, our rug, our artwork. The only thing that didn’t exactly match our tastes were the quail (I think anyway) flying around the lamps, but even that we could handle.

When we were preparing to move into our new house, I wanted to update everything.  The lamps worked wonderfully, and I really wanted to keep them but they were in bad need of repair.  One lampshade was completely broken, unusable. The second one (in the photo) was usable but broken, usable, just don’t touch it! lol

And we were going to try to branch out from the color scheme into something a little different.  In the old house most everything was some shade of burgundy in several rooms.  In the new house I wanted to try something different. When I found out the sellers were leaving the window treatments I was excited. I am not a big fan of the color green, but these were very nice curtains.

A friend told me that I could spray paint the lamps. I thought, “Why not give it a try.”   And so I did.  During my weeks of renovation, I taped up the cords, taped off the light fixture themselves, and began to paint!

End result: LOVE THEM!  They turned out really nice I do believe and they match the living room very well.  Now for my dilemma, I need your help.  The white lampshades are nice, but they are plain. I am trying to decide if I want to place a simple black ribbon around the top and bottom of them just to break it up a bit. Take a look at the “after” picture and let me know your opinion: leave them as “after” or add the ribbon?  What would you do?
(And yes, I even painted the brass!  EEEK!) 🙂

Don’t Assume!

If you have been following my blog you may have noticed that my header has changed.  I have had this site up and running for months and until tonight never noticed that my header featured a big mistake.  I don’t know how many others caught this error and just didn’t want to hurt my feelings by telling me I was wrong. Or, if like me, they assumed I must have known what I was talking about, after all this was my site, right? lol

Never assume! I know now, never think you are right, always double-check, triple check to be sure what you are posting up for the world is accurate information.  What was this mistake you might ask?  Take a peek one more time at the old header and see if you can notice it first.

Have you figured it out yet?  Need a hint, a big one?  It has to do with the basis for the name of my site, for the theme of the site, for the theme of our whole lives.  It was something I was so sure I knew I didn’t double-check, and guess what, here I am months later going, “What was I thinking????”

If you know the Bible, better than me obviously, you realized that Judges doesn’t have 24 chapters, it only has 21 chapters!  I put the wrong book for my main verse!  And I never realized it.  How many times have I typed that in? How many times, not just here but over all, have I referenced that verse and never realized I was looking at the wrong one! Never assume you know, always be sure. Never let that little voice in your head say, “It’s ok, you know this, you don’t need to double-check the scriptures.”  Always, ALWAYS, read it again, look it up, find it in God’s word and be sure.  Don’t assume because you think its right, because you heard it somewhere else, because someone else told you, that it is right.

So thanks to this BIG Boo Boo, I am now going to be making a few updates. I guess it was time for a fresh look anyway!  Thank you for sticking around. Thank you to those who follow me. Thank you to all the family and friends who support me and keep in touch though this site.  And thank you to a God who is always willing to forgive even the littlest mistakes.

“choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve … But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”  JOSHUA 24:15

Family Photo Wall

I had this grand idea of what I wanted to do in our living room.  I wanted a family photo wall: all black frames, all black & white photos.  There was only one problem:  it had been so long since we had family pictures made I didn’t have any I wanted to use.  We are so thankful that a dear friend from church helped us out with that problem and took some amazing pictures of us in our own yard!  We can’t thank her enough.  And now I was able to finish my family wall!

Before it was just a plain wall that was in bad need of some attention!

I think it turned out rather cute! 🙂
